Cannes — The Riviera's red carpet

Cannes — The Riviera's red carpet

Palm-lined boulevards, sandy beaches and the most famous film festival on Earth.

About this destination

Cannes sits midway along the French Riviera, between the Esterel massif and the Lérins Islands. Its golden Croisette boulevard runs for two kilometres past grand Belle Époque hotels — the Carlton, Martinez, Majestic — sandy beaches and the Palais des Festivals, home to the Cannes Film Festival every May. Behind the seafront, the medieval Suquet quarter climbs to the old Notre-Dame de l'Espérance church and views over the bay. A short boat trip leads to the unspoilt Lérins Islands and the monastery of Saint-Honorat, where monks still produce wine.

Best time to visit

Late April–June for spring weather, May for the Film Festival, September for warm sea and quieter beaches.

Why a private transfer

During the Festival and high season, Cannes traffic and security perimeters make a private driver invaluable — door-to-door access, no parking stress, and easy hops to Antibes, Monaco or Saint-Tropez.
