About this destination
Juan-les-Pins is the seaside twin of Antibes, set on a sheltered bay of fine sand framed by parasol pines. The Riviera's bathing-resort fame was forged here in the 1920s, when American writers and musicians made it a year-round destination. The legacy lives on in art deco villas, beach clubs strung along the Promenade du Soleil and especially in Jazz à Juan, Europe's oldest jazz festival, held under the pines every July since 1960. By day the beach is the focus; by night the casino, bars and seaside restaurants take over.
Best time to visit
July for Jazz à Juan, June and September for warm sea without midsummer crowds.
