Megève — the elegant alpine village of the Rothschild

Megève — the elegant alpine village of the Rothschild

Created in the 1920s by the Rothschild family as the French answer to St. Moritz, Megève blends authentic Savoyard chalets with refined luxury.

About this destination

Megève is a real working village — cobbled square, baroque church, horse-drawn sleighs in winter — that happens to host some of France's most discreetly luxurious hotels and chalets. The ski domain Évasion Mont-Blanc links Megève with Saint-Gervais and Combloux for 400+ km of mostly intermediate pistes facing Mont Blanc. The pedestrian centre is full of boutiques, fromageries and Michelin-starred tables. Less vertical than Chamonix, gentler than Courchevel, Megève is the destination of choice for families and connoisseurs.

Best time to visit

Mid-December to early April for skiing; July–August for hiking and the Megève Jazz Festival.

Why a private transfer

Geneva is the natural gateway, 70 km away on winter roads. We handle the chains, the chalet driveway and the late arrivals.
