Verbier — gateway to the 4 Vallées

Verbier — gateway to the 4 Vallées

Sun-drenched chalet resort at 1,500 m facing the Combins massif — 410 km of pistes across the 4 Vallées and Europe's biggest off-piste skiing.

About this destination

Verbier sits on a south-facing terrace at 1,500 m above the Bagnes valley, looking straight across at the Grand Combin. It is the entry point to the 4 Vallées — Switzerland's largest connected ski area, 410 km of pistes across Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and La Tzoumaz, topping out at 3,330 m on Mont-Fort. Verbier is also a freeride capital: the Xtreme Verbier on the Bec des Rosses is the legendary finale of the Freeride World Tour. In summer the same terrain becomes a hub for mountain biking, hiking and the Verbier Festival classical music programme in July.

Best time to visit

December–April for skiing; July–August for the music festival and alpine hiking.

Why a private transfer

Verbier sits 1.5 h from Geneva via the motorway and then a steep climb from Le Châble; a Mercedes 4×4 is the safest winter approach.
