Provence & Rhône wine tours — Châteauneuf-du-Pape and beyond
Tastings in the cellars of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Bandol and the Côtes de Provence rosé country.
About this destination
Provence is two great wine landscapes in one trip. North of Avignon, the southern Rhône produces the powerful reds of Châteauneuf-du-Pape — thirteen grape varieties grown on the famous galets roulés pebbles — alongside Gigondas, Vacqueyras and the Côtes-du-Rhône villages. South of the Luberon, Provence is the world capital of dry rosé: Côtes de Provence, Coteaux d'Aix and the small, age-worthy Bandol appellation behind Toulon. Most domaines welcome visitors by appointment for cellar visits and tastings of three to six wines, often paired with local olive oil, tapenade or cheese.
Best time to visit
May–June and September–October for harvest atmosphere and ideal cellar temperatures.
Why a private transfer
Tastings and wine purchases mean no one in the group should drive. A private chauffeur builds a safe, comfortable route between three or four domaines and brings the cases home for you.
