Tignes — Year-Round Glacier Skiing

Tignes — Year-Round Glacier Skiing

High-altitude resort beside a frozen lake under the Grande Motte glacier — paired with Val d'Isère for the 300 km Espace Killy domain.

About this destination

Tignes is built between 1550 and 2100 m around the Lac de Tignes, with skiing up to 3456 m on the Grande Motte glacier. Together with Val d'Isère it forms Espace Killy — 300 km of pistes including some of the Alps' most demanding off-piste terrain (Tour de Pramecou, Couloir des Tufs). The Grande Motte allows summer skiing late June into July. Modern resort centres at Le Lac, Val Claret, Les Brévières and Tignes 1800.

Best time to visit

Late November–early May; summer glacier skiing.

Why a private transfer

The road climbs above 2000 m through narrow turns. Geneva is the most convenient airport — chauffeur with snow tyres or chains, luggage and ski-bags. Fixed price.
