Toulon stretches around one of Europe's finest natural harbours, framed by Mont Faron and the limestone hills of the Var coast. The Vieille Ville's pastel facades and Provençal market on Cours Lafayette contrast with the modern naval base and the lively cafés of Quai Cronstadt. The Mont Faron cable car climbs to panoramic views over the Rade, while ferries depart for the Îles d'Hyères and Corsica. Toulon is the natural arrival point for the Var coast — Hyères, Bandol, Sanary, Le Pradet and the Giens peninsula are all within thirty minutes.
